Croatian Post – Recipient of the Business Leaders Award

Post Has Received an Award for Its Digital Technology Investment

The largest regional digital conference entitled Digital Takeover took place at Branimir Centar in Zagreb on March 13th, 2018. Digital transformation has taken over nearly every facet of work and life. Even though we talk about it every day, it is still challenging to successfully implement it in the business culture. With its rich program and renowned speakers, Digital Takeover presented actual examples and the newest trends in the world of digital operation while placing a special focus on the human factor in the digital transformation. The conference discussed the importance of investing in digital operations and how to deal with the world of continuous innovations.
Croatian Post received the Business Leaders award at the Digital Takeover conference for its investment in digital technology. Mr. Ivan Čulo, the CEO of Croatian Post, took the award. Last year, Croatian Post started a large investment cycle in accordance with the Pošta2022 Development Strategy placing a focus on the development of fundamental operations, development of knowledge and development with the goal of entering new markets.
The new sorting centre, the greatest capital investment in the history of Croatian Post in the amount of HRK 350 million, is being built on a strategically important location near Velika Gorica. HRK 62 million were invested in new machines for automatic sorting of letters that operate at the speed of 230 thousand letters  per hour with exceptional precision and ensure a timely delivery to user addresses. The fleet of vehicles was also modernised – 27 cargo trucks and 151 semi-cargo delivery vehicles were procured for the price of HRK 46 million.
A panel entitled Digitalisation of Croatia: a Myth or the Truth? with participants that included Mr. Bernard Gršić, Mr. Ivan Čulo, Mr. Davor Bruketa, Mr. Senad Kulenović and Mr. Željko Ivanković attracted a lot of attention. Mr. Ivan Čulo, the CEO of Croatian Post, said that lately, Croatian Post has been a regular guest at conferences dealing with technology and business operations. “Our goal at such events is for the Post not to be something unusual.  We do not want people asking themselves what the Post is doing here. Absence of continuous advancements can spell a demise even for a large company like the Post“, said Mr. Ivan Čulo. He also described a project entitled Digital Mailman that digitalises the field work of mailmen. All mailmen in Croatia will soon be equipped with smart phones and mobile printers.
