The Postal sector, leading the way in Corporate Social Responsibility

The Postal sector, leading the way in Corporate Social ResponsibilityIn its annual review, PostEurop published the best practices for 2021, and the Croatian Post's projects feature in all three categories – employees, society and the environment.

For the eighth year in a row, PostEurop, the Association of European Postal Operators, has published its brochure on corporate social responsibility, highlighting the best practices in this area. The aim of the brochure is to promote postal operators who implement best practices by presenting the activities they have undertaken in three categories – employees, society and the environment.

Corporate social responsibility is a philosophy that guides the Croatian Post's operations, which is why the projects we are implementing are featured in all three categories in PostEurope's edition for 2021.

A project to help workers affected by earthquakes has been included in the category of employees. The Croatian Post provided material, psychological and other necessary assistance to all its employees after the devastating earthquakes that hit Zagreb and Sisak-Moslavina County.

Social responsibility and helping the community, that is, society, is a very important segment of Croatian Post's responsible operations, and the PostEurop brochure for 2021 includes our project of connecting small businesses with customers. Through our online store Žuti klik ("Yellow Click"), we have provided small business owners and family farms with direct access via our sales channel and products delivery to customers. This type of cooperation proved to be extremely important during the pandemic.

Protecting the environment and reducing the harmful impact that companies create is one of the most important activities today. The Croatian Post is implementing a number of projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and the environment category features a project to improve energy efficiency. We are continuing the green transition by installing electric car charging stations and building energy-efficient facilities. So far, three electric charging stations have been installed, and their introduction enables further expansion of the electric vehicle fleet. The energy efficiency of the Croatian Post will be improved by the latest Bakar-Kukuljanovo facility, which will generate power needed for work from the solar panels installed on the roof after the construction is completed.
