Equal in diversityCroatian Post signed the Charter on the Croatia diversity

In May - the European month of diversity - the Management Board of Croatian Post signed the Charter on Diversity in Croatia organized by the Croatian Business Council for Sustainable Development (HRPSOR). Diversity is one of the fundamental values of modern society, and all employees, with their diversity, skills, creativity and innovation, are the key to the long-term success of any company. In order to further encourage and favor such an environment, Croatian post joined the number of about 90 successful companies in Croatia that have signed this Charter, because the policy of socially responsible business is an integral part of the new Corporate Strategy of Post 2025(30).

By signing the Charter, Croatian post agreed to publicly support, protect and develop diversity in its organization and its value chain:

  • by creating a policy of diversity and non-discrimination - in order to develop organizational culture
  • development of a diverse work environment - encouraging the integration of all workers regardless of gender and sexual orientation, racial and ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, etc.
  • developing the skills and competencies of management and workers responsible for employment, training and career development on the application of the policy of diversity and non-discrimination
  • using a policy of diversity and non-discrimination in hiring management
  • by developing awareness and educating workers about diversity policy
  • by encouraging the application of the diversity policy among clients and suppliers
  • by creating and regularly renewing the action plan for the promotion of the policy of diversity and non-discrimination with measurable indicators
  • by annual reporting on the implementation of the diversity and non-discrimination policy.

Organizations that recognize the potential that comes from a diverse workforce have numerous competitive and reputational advantages. A diversity policy, therefore, can increase the trust of the community, consumers and other stakeholders towards the company.

The project was initiated by the European Commission in 2010 with the launch of the EU Diversity Charter European platform to support the development and exchange of good practices among member countries, and Croatia is the 19th EU country to join the platform. Today, more than 14 million workers benefit from the voluntary commitment of companies and institutions that are signatories to the Charter to implement a diversity policy.
