Important steps in the green transition of Croatian PostThe 300th parcel locker was installed and 100 electric mopeds were purchased

ZAGREB, May 15, 2023 – As part of the new strategic framework,Croatian post continued to transform its business into a green and sustainable one. The 300th parcel locker was installed, which completed the postal green delivery channel network, and another 100 electric mopeds were purchased. Croatian post started installing parcel machines two years ago in order to respond to users' needs for an affordable and simple package delivery service. Today, parcel machines are available all over Croatia, including the islands of Korčula, Hvar, Brač, Pag, Vir, Krk and Lošinj, and are located in frequent and easily accessible locations.

Every day of the week, from 0 to 24 hours, customers can pick up and send their packages at a time that suits them best, and they can also return goods purchased in e-stores through the parcel locker. Paket24, the express delivery service of the Croatian Post, takes care of the delivery and dispatch of parcels. Paket24 is a partner of the most important global and domestic companies, and delivers parcels ordered in numerous Croatian and international e-stores to new locations. If the goods were ordered in an e-shop that does not offer a parcel locker as a place of delivery, the shipment can be redirected later with the help of the link that the customer receives in the electronic notification. Parcel machines, along with electric vehicles, are the main backbone of Croatian Post in developing sustainable business because they increase the percentage of deliveries on the first attempt and delivery vehicles need to visit fewer locations, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions. All parcel locker locations can be checked on the Croatian Post website - https://hrvatska.posta.hr/hr/en/interactive-map-of-post-offices/6653?paketomat=1.

One hundred new Silence SO2 electric mopeds will be used for delivery in Osijek, Rijeka, Split, Zadar, Bjelovar and Zagreb and the surrounding area. The postal green fleet currently has 423 electric vehicles, including 116 delivery vans. Croatian Post is also developing its own network of charging stations for electric vehicles located within sorting and delivery centers and business facilities. So far, more than 50 charging stations have been installed, and by the end of this year there will be more than 80. The charging stations will be located in 18 cities, from Osijek to Dubrovnik, which will ensure the prerequisites for further expansion of the green vehicle fleet throughout Croatia.

By using electric vehicles, Croatian Post will reduce harmful CO2 emissions by more than 1,300 tons this year.
