Postal operators reduced annual CO2 emissions by almost 40%On this occasion, postal operators around the world mark their commitment to sustainable business, the necessity of which they recognized back in 2008 by launching the Environmental Measurement and Monitoring Program (EMMS). From the beginning of the cooperation until today, the postal operators have reduced their total annual CO2 emissions by almost 40% and have committed to achieve a further reduction of 50% by 2030 compared to emissions from 2019. Postal operators has also committed itself to having at least 50% of its fleet made up of alternative drive vehicles by 2030. They are in a good position to achieve the goal, as they currently have a share of 28% of alternative drive vehicles in the total fleet.

In achieving the main sustainability goals, Croatian Post relies on the largest fleet of electric vehicles in Croatia, its own network of charging stations, energy-efficient business facilities and alternative delivery channels such as parcel lockers. Thanks to electric vehicles, bicycles and deliveries in pedestrian areas, postmen covered five million green kilometers last year, and the company saved more than 870 tons of CO2 in total.

Green Postal Day is a global campaign launched by postal operators who are part of the Sustainability Measurement and Management System (SMMS) - a program of the International Postal Corporation (IPC) aimed at highlighting sustainability and green business. 26 postal operators from all over the world participate in the SMMS program.
