The Croatian Post's project is a best practice example of socially responsible business operation in the "Community Care" category

Zagreb, 14 December 2018 – The "Your Post" Foundation has been awarded a valuable prize as a best practice example of socially responsible business operation in the "Community Care" category by the Croatian Employers' Association. The award was accepted by Mate Mišetić, the chairman of the Management Board of the Foundation and a member of the Management Board of Croatian Post, at a ceremony held on 14 December 2018 in the Crystal Ballroom at the Westin Hotel in Zagreb.
The "Your Post" Foundation has its special way of supporting post-institutional care for people in homes for children without adequate parental care, which includes mediation between the sponsors and the wards, with the support of its long-term partner, Croatia Insurance.
When children without adequate parental care who live in children's homes finish high school, they must start an independent life without the help of their families, without money or employment. In 2010, Croatian Post established the "Your Post" Foundation with the aim of providing financial support for those in children's homes. During their stay in one of those homes, the equivalent of 6,000 euro is paid into life insurance policies in their names. The amount paid into the policy is paid out when they leave the home and start an independent life. In that way, their basic living costs – rent and utilities – are covered for the next two years. So far, this project has provided care for 410 children from 20 homes throughout Croatia, and the contracted policies are worth around 18.5 million kuna.
