Record volumes of shipments are arriving at the National Storage and Sorting Center of the Croatian Post in Velika Gorica these days. During the week of Black Friday alone, an average of around 100,000 packages were received for delivery each day. All shipments were delivered in parcel lockers and to addresses throughout Croatia and, despite the records, there are no backlogs.

The postal system is prepared for the influx of a large number of parcels, and workers in the sorting office, drivers, postmen and post office operators continue to make extra efforts to ensure that all parcels are delivered on time. During the past weekend, all incoming parcels were delivered to the users and the postal system is ready for the upcoming amount of parcels.

The large number of parcels is the result of numerous promotions and discounts that e-stores offered in the second half of November in anticipation of Black Friday, but also due to the increasing number of people who are turning to shopping in e-stores. Parcel business breaks new records year after year and is the best indicator of the future and the source of key revenues of the postal sector, namely parcels and logistics.

The peak parcel season that began in the second half of November will last until the end of January 2025. We expect record quantities of parcels in January as well, because many retailers start their winter sales right after Christmas.
