Project GreenPosts

 
Following the trends of the global business community in the field of sustainability and environmental protection, the Croatian Post is implementing the project "Green Skills & Practices for Postal Services to implement the European Green Deal", abbreviated GreenPosts.
 
Due to the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, an introductory meeting of project partners was held on January 14^th 2022 through the MS Teams platform. The goals and activities of the project were presented at the meeting, as well as the context of the action within the European Green Deal initiative. The partners were introduced to the contractual obligations, program procedures and mechanism, as well as the work methodology and structure of the project budget.
 
The project plans to establish a virtual forum where the main points of the European Green Deal will be transformed into educational material for the needs of the postal sector and employees in the postal industry. The idea of the GreenPosts project is to design and implement a training course and a virtual Think Tank (forum) to develop the skills and competencies of postal workers on how to think proactively and work green.
 
In general, the project is intended to involve local post offices, which are aware of various environmental problems related to noise or air pollution, waste disposal, education and consumer protection. The specific objective of the project is to train local post office staff to participate in change, develop green skills and foster leadership, creativity, socio-educational and professional development skills. The aim of the training is to provide the knowledge and skills needed by the target group to encourage and develop their ideas into successfully implemented actions to establish resilience to climate change.
 
The GreenPosts project is fully funded by EU funds from the Erasmus + program, Key Activity 2: Strategic Partnerships in the amount of 195,468.00 EUR and lasts 24 months. The project holder is HP - Croatian Post in a consortium with Greek, Bulgarian and Cyprus Post and Future Needs from Cyprus.
