Postal Oscar for COG-LO

The World Post & Parcel Awards is an award of the professional portal postandparcel.info and is considered to be the "Oscar" of the postal industry and has been celebrating successes in the postal sector for more than 20 years. The overall acceptance of change, openness to new challenges and taking advantage of the opportunities ahead are evaluated.

The names of the winners of the awards for 2021 were published on the portal's website in June. In the 2nd category "Cross-border growth", the winner is COG-LO project. This category rewards organizations that can attest to significant cross-border growth in physical mail and / or parcels.

The COG-LO project of full title "Cognitive logistics operations through secure, dynamic and ad-hoc collaborative networks" is worth 4,999,922.00 EUR and is fully funded by HORIZON Programme. The main goal of the COG-LO project is to create the necessary framework and tools that will enable future logistics processes to become cognitive and interoperable for collaboration. The project, which is currently in its final stages, will develop and introduce a CLO (Cognitive Logistic Object) system that will use sophisticated tools to exchange information in a secure environment in ad-hoc situations. CLO is a virtualized entity that participates in the logistics process, represents different actors such as packages, trucks, traffic lights, support systems, depending on the case and has different options from basic functionalities to autonomous decision making and startup configured for each case. In this way, it will enable postal operators to better meet the expectations of both retailers and consumers by improving customer satisfaction when it comes to delivery. Overall, increasing customer satisfaction along with improvements in performance will improve the image of the postal market as a credible player in the delivery of goods from e-shops.

Croatian Post is valuable part of the project consortium consisting of 14 partners from 8 countries, namely: ICT companies, providers of technological and IT services, universities and institutes dealing with the optimization and analysis of large databases and 7 national postal operators.

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic circumstances, the winners were announced virtually, and part of the announcement can be viewed at the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTNdO3VBddg&t=173s
